IITAE Ltd would like to join the Ministry of Community Development, Gender Affairs and Social Services in St Kitts by taking the time out to congratulate Dr. Ricardo R. Neil for his stellar contribution in the area of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Education. Dr. Neil was awarded as Man Of The Year in Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Education at the Ocean Terrace Inn – OTI on the 19th of November 2019.
The awards were presented to him by the Hon. Eugene A. Hamilton and senator and Hon. Senator Wendy Colleen Phipps who offers congratulatory remarks. Prime Minister Honorable Timothy Sylvester Harris also extended his congratulation to Dr. Ricardo Neil for his contribution to the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
Dr. Ricardo R. Neil is currently a business man and Lecturer for Information Technology at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College – CFBC in St Kitts while still maintains his position as Senior Technical Instructor for Information Technology and Industrial Arts in the federation.
Neil, as he is affectionately called, has completed a Doctorate of Science (D.Sc.) in Information Technology with a focus on Management.
He is also the holder of a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems and a Diploma in Data Systems Analysis from the prestigious Oxford University Oxford Brookes University and AIU respectively.
Dr. Neil, is also a graduate of the Mico Teacher’s University in Jamaica where he pursued studies in Secondary Education concentrating in Industrial Arts and Computer Science. He is also Assistant Chief Examiner for the Caribbean Examination Council – CXC.
He has also earned various Certifications from Microsoft Cooperation in the United States through Certiport, Microsoft’s examination body and many other Information Technology internationally recognized certifications.
Additionally, he has recently acquired the certification of a Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET) Assessor through Barbados.
He has extensive experience serving the Caribbean in the field of Information Technology and founded the eLearning business, ComputerLearningEz.com which is now International Information Technology Academy of Excellence Limited (IITAE Ltd) – iitae.tech, an organization which is 40+ members strong.
Competency Based Capstone Project – CBCP
In 2014, he started the first Competency Based Capstone Project – CBCP for Information Technology at CFBC which is a success in itself. The CBCP Programme allows students to present research in the following areas: Robotics, humanoid, Networking, Website Development, Innovation, VR Technology, Computer repairs and Game Development.
St Kitts and Nevis National Robotics Team
Dr. Neil is the founder, team mentor and manager of the distinguished and successful St Kitts and Nevis Robotics Team, which is ranked as one of the most outstanding team in the OECS, the Caribbean and among more than 190 Robotics Team globally. The St Kitts and Nevis Robotics team is known international as a force to reckoned with.
Information Technology in FOCUS for CSEC CXC Subject
Dr. Ricardo Neil has risen to prominence as the author of the first and only “Information Technology Algorithm Textbook (Workbook)” after which he also published the largest Information Technology textbook in the Caribbean called; Information Technology in FOCUS. This textbooks book is classified as the “bible” for CXC CSEC Information Technology in the region. January of 2020 will be the launch of another Information Technology Textbook for the secondary schools in the Caribbean and North America.
Assistant Chief Examiner for Information Technology in the Caribbean
Due to the success of the development of the textbooks, Dr. Neil was called upon by the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) to sit in the position as Assistant Chief Examiner for Information Technology in the Caribbean.
Dr Neil and his team are currently working on projects for the federation of St Kitts and Nevis. We extend congratulations to Dr. Ricardo Neil for his stellar contribution to Information Technology in Education.
