State of the Caribbean Internet Symposium


IITAE Ltd is pleased to inform you that the Organization for Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission and the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), in collaboration with the Caribbean Telecommunications Union, the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, is staging the inaugural State of the Caribbean Internet Symposium in St. Kitts. The event was held on 4-5 December 2019 at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort under the theme “Accelerating development of the Internet Economy and Society”.

Dr. Ricardo Neil Managing Director and CEO of IITAE Ltd was invited to observe and participate in this direct move in connecting the Caribbean. 

The Symposium builds on the collaborative work of ARIN, the OECS and the CTU over the past few years to accelerate development of the Caribbean Internet economy and society. The event went goes beyond dialogue to identify successful models and catalyze practical national and regional action. Securing the welfare of Caribbean people will be the core of our deliberations.

The programme brings leading thinkers and practitioners together to explore the issues affecting the region’s digital transformation agenda and to consider the most effective strategies for leveraging the considerable investment being made.

The intention is for the meeting to press beyond dialogue to catalyze practical national and regional action towards Internet-enabled development. Opportunities to network and constructively exchange insights and experiences will play a key part of the event. The symposium brings together a unique combination of government leaders, private sector leaders, regulators, academics, investors, international development partners, and members of the diplomatic corps.
